Race Team News

December 5 , 2006 - We still have a limited number of Ohio Nordic Race Team lycra suits available for purchase (click here for a template of the suit design). We contracted the suit design through podiumwear of Minnesota. Interest in the suits was very heavy last year so we ordered extra just in case. Please contact president@ohionordic.org for sizing availability. Re-orders are possible from podiumwear, subject to their capacity to produce the suits, which can take up to six weeks as of late November. Suits are sold as "independent separates" (top AND bottom sized separately but sold together) for $125 unlined, and $140 lined.

About the Ohio Nordic Race Team.
The Ohio Nordic Ski Club race team competes in a variey of ski events throughout the Midwestern US and Canada, as well as some of the longer distance races around the world as part of the Worldloppet circuit. The focus of the race team is, of course, racing, but we are happy to accomodate racers of all levels. Whether you're a newbie or have 20 years of hardcore ski competition under your belt, the team is open to you.

The main focus of the race team is the Michigan Cup competition. The Michigan Cup is a series of races in the northern part of the state that runs every weekend from late December to mid-March. The club team with the most points at the end of the season wins. Points are earned on the first 30 members of the team per any one event. Whenever you race, you earn Michigan Cup points for Team Ohio Nordic as wellas for yourself. For more information on the Michigan Cup, go to www.nordicskiracer.com

How to become a race team member:

  • Join the Ohio Nordic Ski Club and be a paid member for the year in question,
  • Pay an additional $6 fee to enter the Michigan Cup Competition,
  • Race! We carpool to races and split hotel costs.

For more information on the ONSC race team, contact the race committee chair Derek Svoren at derek@ohionordic.org or 216-392-6113.
